Level Switches

NISAN make Direct insert or Direct mounted level switch uses the counterbalance principle. It consists of float and float stem with counterbalance weight and switch mechanism with magnet attractor. The working principle behind magnetic float level switches is to utilize a magnetic field to open or close a circuit as the level of a liquid within the chamber rises or falls. The Non-Magnetic float within operates on the basic buoyancy principle that the force on a buoyant object is equal to the mass of liquid displaced by the object. Partially submerged within the liquid surface, the float moves within the chamber when the liquid level moves, thereby accurately tracking the liquid surface motion.

Functional Principle:

The magnetic fields to open and close switch points in many float level switches is common and used in many industries. It’s a simple, smart technique for level measurement and maintenance. As the float moves with the liquid level, it moves a magnetic sleeve into or out of the field of a magnet that actuates a switch, causing switch operation. A non-magnetic barrier tube effectively isolates the switch mechanisms from the controlled liquid.

In this type there are two versions applicable

  • Direct insert side mounted: NSLS-1000
  • Direct insert top mounted: NTLS-1000
  • Side Mounted Level Switch with External Chamber/Cage: NSLS-2000
  • Top Mounted Level Switch with External Chamber/Cage: NTLS-2000

NSLS-1000: Side Mounted direct insert mounted level switch:
This type of level switch is mounted directly on the tank/ vessel having horizontal nozzle as shown in figure. The tank/vessel connection must be located at the elevation where set level is to occur. Applications are suitable in cryogenic tanks and applications for high temperature with special material are also applicable with External Cage the Model Code is NSLS-2000

NTLS-1000: Top Mounted direct insert mounted level switch:
This is direct mounted type level switch. This provides contact changeover at a selected elevation level in the tank / vessel. Switch is mounted on top of the tank / vessel and coupled with float assembly rides on the liquid surface with rising and falling of level. The magnet attracter is connected on the isolating tube as shown in figure. As the level rises stem head of float assembly reaches upto attractor causes actuation of microswitch. To improve reliability the stem guide isolated just above the float. This type of level switch issued for lengths upto 2000 mm with External Cage the Model Code is NTLS-2000
